Here are the top five stories today in Roseville:

  1. If you're on Vernon Street on the morning of September 25, you'll be seeing pink as the Hot Pink Fun Run returns to Roseville! The goal of the run is to raise awareness about breast cancer. All proceeds will benefit the Placer Breast Cancer Foundation. There will be a 10K, 5K and 1 mile run/walk. According to this article in Roseville Today "individuals can write the name of the person they will be walking in honor or memory of on a special sticker available for $1 at packet pick-up or registration on the morning of the race. There will also be an honor/memory wall for individuals to share the reason why they are participating." (Roseville Today)
  2. Whether you're looking for full-time or part-time work, opportunities are out there! Each week, Patch and ZipRecruiter put together a list of the latest local jobs added in the region. Here are some of the top jobs now available in Roseville and across greater California: (Roseville Patch)
  3. This is an awesome education from ABC10 on our water situation in California and the west. Most of our reservoirs are well below historical averages for this time of the year. The exception is still Folsom Lake, because it benefitted from the exceptional atmospheric river that went through the I-80 corridor last winter. Everything else is low, including historic lows in Lake Mead and groundwater reserves. We're headed into another La Nina year. That means it may be another year of historically low moisture in the southwest, including Lake Mead, but Northern California could see some wetter than usual weather. (ABC10.com KXTV)
  4. Starting on Monday, the American River Parkway trail from the El Manto entrance to the Sunriver Park entrance will be closed for two months due to construction. It will reopen for one weekend, only, on Labor Day weekend. According to KCRA3 "the city said crews will work six days a week, Monday-Saturday, to ensure the parkway will open up again as soon as possible." (KCRA Sacramento)
  5. Argonaut Avenue from Whitney Boulevard to Midas Avenue in the city of Rocklin will be closed today for "culvert work. Argonaut Avenue will be closed to thru (non-resident) traffic." That's interesting, but more interesting is that the city has this cool interactive map where you can check out all lane closures, street closures and traffic controls any time! (City of Rocklin)
