Hot Temps Push On, How to Keep Cool

Area officials urge residents to find ways to beat the heat.

National Weather Service representatives announced today "record-breaking heat will once again affect much of the western U.S." To stay cool, Sacramento County officials encourage residents revisit ways to avoid the heat.

In Sacramento, area forecasters predict today's temperatures will range between 103 and 105 in parts of the Valley, including Roseville.

Tips for staying cool

• Limit outside activities

• Avoid becoming dehydrated

• Drink plenty of water

• Stay in cool environment

• Dress appropriately, wear lightweight, light-colored and loose-fitting clothing

• Drink cold drinks

• Taking cool showers to lower body temperature

• Limit sun exposure
