I very much hope and pray that the negotiation between the United States, Russia, are successful!

Dear Fox:

Please know that I am closely monitoring the situation in Syria.  Because I want to share with you as fully as possible how I see it, I have attached a copy of the speech I gave on the Senate floor on September 11, 2013.

The evidence is clear that the Assad regime used chemical weapons in the August 21 attack in the Damascus suburbs, as it did roughly a dozen times before in smaller increments.  We cannot turn our backs on this atrocity.

I very much hope and pray that the negotiation between the United States, Russia, and the United Nations Security Council can be successful and that the regime's chemical weapons can be dismantled and destroyed.

Should a diplomatic solution be achieved, I believe the need for any use of military force would be negated.

Sincerely yours,
