Here are the top stories in Roseville today:

  1. A woman whose husband was killed in a fiery Granite Bay crash last year is suing the driver of the vehicle and the restaurant that served the driver alcohol prior to the crash. Sierra Pannu is seeking $25,000 in damages from the estate of Jerry Cepel and the House of Oliver. The suit alleges that Cepel was "obviously drunk" when he left the restaurant after having partaken in a Whiskey Wednesday event. "California Highway Patrol has not released whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash." (ABC10.com KXTV)
  2. A proposed industrial park in Roseville is sparking growing concerns among neighbors. "The project includes a trucking center and warehouse that's slated to be more than 2 million square feet." The concern stems from an environmental impact report that cites several hazards from the park, including greenhouse gas emissions and hazardous materials. The site will need to be rezoned, which many homeowners oppose. The City Council has not yet voted on the project. (CBS Sacramento)
  3. The popular Roseville Cash for Grass program is back for a limited time. This program rewards homeowners for replacing their grass with more water-efficient landscaping. For every square foot of grass removed, the city will pay homeowners $1.50, up to $2,000 maximum per address. "Funding is limited, and we will accept applications on a first-come, first-served basis. Please submit applications between March 1 – 24, 2023." (Roseville Today)
  4. Have a heart... or sculpt one! Folsom's "Heartbeat of Folsom" program is looking for artists and sponsors to create beautiful heart sculptures for the city. Themes for the hearts can include "innovation, history, technology, community, natural beauty and more." Artists from "high school age" on up are welcome to apply, and sponsors can choose their own artists or sponsor one chosen by the organizers of the event. The hearts will be revealed in an event at the Palladio in June. (ABC10.com KXTV)

  • Look up I-80 to the mountains beyond. See all that snow? It's 150% to 200% over average for this time of year! Think about this: You can travel up there to ski on it now, or wait until summer and ski on it in Folsom Lake — or both! Cool! (Roseville Today)
  • On Saturday, "local beginning artists will showcase their work at 'That Local Art Show' from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Maidu Community Center, 1550 Maidu Drive, Roseville." (Gold Country Media)
