  1. You can help catch a catalytic converter thief that is targeting vehicles in Roseville! If you recognize this lifted, extended cab pickup, or if you live near Kodiak Way between Look Out Court and Painted Desert Drive and may have surveillance video, Roseville PD would like to hear from you. The driver of the pickup and passenger, who was described as a thin white male, are suspects in an attempted catalytic converter theft that happened just after 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, September 20. Let's get these guys off our streets! (City of Roseville, California Police Department via Facebook)
  2. A local nonprofit made back to school for some Roseville City schoolkids almost like Christmas! Roseville City School District members reached out to Tommy Apostolos Fund asking for funding for their Child Backpack Program. TAF's board unanimously approved the funding request. Students in need received a backpack and school supplies to help them ease back into the school routine. “It is our passion to help local children get the materials they need to succeed,” said Hallie Romero, executive director of Tommy Apostolos Fund. “In addition to having a bag to hold their items, we hope the backpacks will help the children feel prepared and motivated to go to school.” (Roseville Today)
  3. Listen up high school football fans! It's Rocklin Quarry Bowl time! According to Roseville Today "The Rocklin High School Thunder football team will be suiting up for battle to make the 3-mile journey to take on the Whitney High Wildcats’ home turf for what fans hope is another epic Rocklin Quarry Bowl." The varsity game starts at 7. Bring your noisemakers and enthusiasm for your favorite team! See you there! (Roseville Today)
  4. Rocklin has a prime piece of real estate sitting right next to William Jessup University just as you come in to the city off Highway 65. The City Council is taking a look at a development opportunity for the site. On Tuesday's City Council meeting, Rocklin staff said the 30-acre parcel is one of the last remaining large, vacant, commercially-zoned properties in the city. The plan that they are reviewing includes 20 acres for residential living and 10 acres for a second, commercial plan. So far, the council has been holding the parcel for fully commercial use. It will be interesting to see which way they go on this. (Roseville Press Tribune)
