Here are the top five --stories today in Roseville:
- It was lights out in Lincoln on Friday when a vehicle crashed into a power pole on Nicolaus Road east of Highway 65. It then burst into flames. One person was sent to the hospital with major injuries. Both lanes of Nicolas Road were closed due to downed power lines. About 50 PG&E customers were impacted. (KCRA Sacramento)
- One of the five marines that were killed in an aircraft crash this week in the California desert has been identified as 33-year-old Capt. John Sax from Placer County. Sax had served in the Marines for five years and was assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 364 where he served as an MV-22B pilot. Sax is also the the son of Steve Sax, five time All Star and former Major League Baseball player for the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox and Oakland A’s. (KCRA Sacramento)

Roseville typically sees a rise in crime in summer due to the longer daylight hours and people being away from their homes on vacation.
