Gaines Places First in Assembly District 6

Bronner barely ahead of Pugno for second in unofficial primary results.

Assemblymember Beth Gaines is headed to a November runoff in the newly-formed Assembly District 6, which includes Roseville, Fair Oaks, Folsom, Lincoln and Rocklin.

Gaines, a Republican, placed first in Tuesday's primary with 36.9 percent of the vote. Democrat Regy Bronner was just barely ahead of Republican Andy Pugno for second, 31.9 percent to 31.2 percent with all precincts reporting early Wednesday.

The top two finishers can come from any political party and will face off in the general election in November.

“It has been my honor to serve my constituents for this past year and I am humbled by their continuing support,” Beth Gaines said in a news release.  “I look forward to November, and in the meantime, will keep fighting over-regulation, frivolous lawsuits and strive to make California the best place to work and raise our families.”
