1. You've heard of the garlic festival and even the strawberry festival, but did you know there is an eggplant festival? It's true, and it's right here in our backyard in Loomis. They'll be bringing out the aubergine in style this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. I don't know about you, but the thing I'm most looking forward to is the kazoo parade! 2. Rocklin Police have announced the arrest of an area athletic coach for inappropriate contact with a minor. Eric James Hawkins, 48, of Antelope has been charged with “annoying or molesting a victim under 18 years old,” and is currently in the Placer County Jail. Hawkins is ineligible for bail. During the initial investigation, police discovered there was a second minor victim. Anyone who has information about Hawkins’ case is urged to call the Rocklin Police Department at (916) 625-5400. 3. It's pumpkin season, and that means a trek out to Zittle Farms in Folsom for that perfect pumpkin! And while the kids are off turning over every pumpkin to find just the right one for their jack-o-lantern, you can browse the array of dried lavender, local honey and preserves that are always a hit this time of year. 4. Want to go to a Kings game, but don't want the hassle of driving there and finding parking? The City of Roseville has you covered! They are providing non-stop bus service from Roseville to Sacramento for the Kings 2022-23 home games at Golden 1 Center. Per the city: "Game Day Express is a safe, clean, and comfortable way to travel downtown and be treated like an MVP. Buses depart from Vernon Street in Downtown Roseville and stop a short walk away from the Golden 1 Center. Round-trip fares are as little as $6.50 for Roseville residents. " (roseville.ca.us)
5. You're gonna have to pop over to Highway 50 for this one, but it's worth the drive! The California Capital Airshow returns to Mather Airport in Rancho Cordova Friday through Sunday ! This year, it celebrates the 75th anniversary of the United States Air Force. Check out this article from the Folsom Telegraph to see which planes are in the show, which will have "the world's best pilots and aircrafts, including the fearsome F-22 Raptor's long-awaited comeback, fantastic runway displays, amazing military jet demonstrations, and interactive exhibits unlike anything we've ever seen before."
