- To the dismay of East Roseville book lovers, the Maidu branch of the Roseville Public Library will be closed until further notice. "Unexpected maintenance issues" were cited as the reason on the library system's social media. The book drop is still available for patrons to return books. (Facebook)
- The Atlantic St. on-ramp will be closed again this week through Friday, July 9 for overnight work from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am as crews continue the project to widen the on-ramp to three lanes. The section of Miner's Ravine Trail in that area will also be closed through October for the safety of pedestrians and bicyclists. Detours are in place for both the on-ramp and the trail. (GCM)
- Blue Line Arts will welcome ceramic artist Jason Walker as their featured artist for the Susan Cooley Gilliom Artist in Residence and Teaching Program running from August 13 through September 3. The three-week residency is supported by an endowment from the Placer Community Foundation and will include open studio hours, an artist lecture and two workshops. (BlueLineArts)
- You can help make travel by train from Auburn to San Francisco faster, more efficient and more affordable! The Placer County Transportation Planning Agency (PCTPA) and the California State Transportation Agency (CalSTA) have teamed up with other partners to transform this NorCal rail corridor into a more integrated system. The development program, Link21, needs your participation and input! Sign up for the online workshop on Thursday, July 15. (Link21)
- It looks like California will have a gubernatorial election on September 4, after California Secretary of State Alex Padilla certified a recall petition for Governor Gavin Newsom last week. Think you've got what it takes to run California? Hopeful candidates can file at the Placer County Elections Office in Auburn between July 9 and 16. (PlacerCo)
