Well, the rain came a little earlier than our last post forecasted, but California did not complain! We can expect mostly sunny skies today, with very little chance of rain, and a high of 72 degrees. Temperatures will get down to around 48 tonight. Winds should be in the 5-10 mph range all day.

Here are the top five stories in Roseville today:
- A 59 year Rocklin man was taken into custody on Saturday afternoon after reports were made to our Roseville Police that Alexandr Polupan was contacting and filming young children at Crabb Park on Scarborough Drive. Polupan is facing charges of resisting arrest, contributing to delinquency of a minor, and annoying and molesting a minor. Investigators are seeking information from anyone who might have witnessed this incident, or have information about Polupan. (Roseville Police Dept. Facebook)
- With a coffee house on nearly every corner, you know it’s got to be competitive business. That’s why this next story is so heartwarming. The pandemic had a devastating effect on many small, locally owned establishments, including Bloom Coffee & Tea. That’s when former Bloom employee and current Fourscore Coffee proprietor Luke Noland decided to lend a hand. Check out this interview about these competitors teaming up to weather the hard economic times together. (Good Day Sacramento)
- The building that houses the Chapman Monument Company has housed businesses integral to community life in Roseville since 1880. The monument building establishments at 800 Atlantic St. have created lasting markers for the memorable places and history of the city, as well as helped the people of Roseville bid farewell for their dearly departed for nearly 144 years – until now. Owner Gene Chapman has sold the business to a local contactor so he can retire. Read about some of the projects and memories of this city mainstay from two members of the Chapman family. - The Oscars honored one of Sacramento’s own on Sunday by awarding Jessica Chastain the statue for Best Actress for her lead roll in “The Eyes of Tammy Faye.” Chastain, who is an alum of El Camino High School, is also one of the movie’s producers. - Sutter Health, one of the largest healthcare providers in California, is facing two pending lawsuits accusing the healthcare giant of racial discrimination, harassment and retaliation. At least one of the lawsuits has been filed by a doctor who currently remains employed by Sutter. (KCRA 3)

- Author and motivational speaker Marguerite Crespillo will be at Bennett’s Kitchen Bar Market today to celebrate her newest publication, 100 Things I Love About You. - The Roseville Public Library is getting ready to celebrate National Library Week in a BIG way! Beginning April 6, a second storytime session will be added to the popular programs happening throughout the week at different branches. Be sure to check the registration/drop-in details for the one you and your little want to attend. Also, storytimes on April 6-8 will have some special guest characters – princesses, Pete the Cat and a very large Ladybug! (Facebook)
- Does someone you care about struggle with mental illness? You can help them by learning how to recognize the warning signs and how to respond when a crisis arises at one of three free 8-hour Mental Health First Aid seminar coming up in Placer County.
