Mandatory Recycling in Effect: City Helps Transition

City of Roseville offers businesses information on how to comply with mandatory statewide commercial recycling law.

A new law requires all public and private businesses that generate four or more cubic yards of waste a week to recycle. Also applicable to multi-family housing with five or more units, regardless of the volume of waste, the law went into effect July 1.

The City of Roseville recently released information on how to comply with the law, and notes that if the city already hauls your refuse to the Western Placer Material Recovery Facility, recyclables are already sorted out of the waste for you.

However, if not already covered by the city's services, you must still comply with the law's provisions by either self-hauling or using a third-party recycler.
