Memorial Fund Set Up in Honor of Driver Killed at the All American Speedway

Ron Pestana was killed in a crash at the Roseville racetrack July 14.

A memorial fund has been set up in honor of John Ronald Pestana, or Ron, who was in Roseville Saturday, July 14.

Pestana was participating in the Spectator Racing Series, a racing event that allows people to race rented stock cars, when the car he was driving crashed head-first into the racetrack wall adjacent to the off-ramp during the first turn on the fourth lap, according to witnesses. An autopsy is being conducted to determine the cause of death.

A memorial service is scheduled for Pestana at 1 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Wild Idol Saloon, 3918 Main St. in Byron, a city in the Bay Area.
