Merryhill Preschool Students Hold Celebratory Ladybug Release

Students recognized Earth Day by releasing hundreds of ladybugs in their schoolyard to help local vegetation

Students at Merryhill Preschool in Roseville have caught the environmental bug! On April 22, students celebrated Earth Day and taking care of the planet by releasing hundreds of ladybugs throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees. Many students were dressed for the occasion in the likeness of ladybugs, wearing red and black clothing and antennae.

Leading up to Earth Day, students learned that ladybugs serve as a natural pesticide by feeding on insects that could otherwise harm the health of gardens, trees and shrubs. Merryhill Preschool teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
