Missing Girls Left Voluntarily

Original accounts determined untrue by police

Roseville Police Department officials are reporting that the circumstances surrounding missing Roseville teens Melissa Perez, 16, and Angelina Loredo, 14, are no longer suspicious.

"The two Roseville teens who were reported missing since Thursday have safely returned," said Dee Dee Gunther, public information officer for the Roseville Police Department, in a statement.

"Officers talked to them at length, and determined that they were gone voluntarily, and their accounts of being held against their will were not true," she said.

The teens' fathers both received texts Thursday, Oct. 27 that they were being held by two unknown men. The girls texted not to call police.

Perez and Loredo did not return home from Roseville High School Thursday. The texts were sent that same evening.
