Here are the top five stories in Roseville today:
- With expanded income eligibility, even more residents can qualify for Roseville's Electric Rate Assistance Program and receive a 15% discount on electric service. You must be a current Roseville Electric customer and qualify based on your household income. To apply, please complete and submit an application - Application / Apliciacion (City of Roseville)
- Roseville City Manager Dominick Casey announced the appointment of Daniel Beans as Director of the Roseville Electric Utility. He will start Feb. 7. Beans is currently the Director of Redding Electric Utility as well as the vice president of the California Municipal Utilities Association, board member of the American Public Power Association, and commissioner for the Balancing Area of Northern California. No beans about it, that's a pretty impressive resume! (Roseville Today)
- Placer County residents are invited to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the fourth annual Placer MLK Jr. Family March & Celebration at 10 a.m. Monday in Rocklin. The annual family-friendly celebration is organized by SeeMyChild, a local nonprofit organization “dedicated to lifting up young voices and showcasing today's youth to ensure that every child is seen, heard and loved.” This year’s theme is a reflection on "Inclusion and Belonging: His Dream, Our Determination.” (Gold Country Media)
- The 2021 deluge brought a dose of relief to our drought-plagued state and reservoirs. The largest reservoirs in California, local Folsom Lake and Lake Oroville have seen the largest increase statewide to date this rainy season. Folsom Lake has risen from 22 percent to 58 percent capacity. Folsom Lake and New Bullards Bar have recently joined Don Pedro reservoir as the only California reservoirs currently above 50 percent capacity. I'll drink (a nice cold glass of water) to that!
