Mobile Food Fest Makes Roseville Stop
Bite-sized burgers, gourmet grilled cheeses and waffles were all served up at the mobile food feast at Future Ford in the Roseville Auto Mall Thursday night.
Thursday night, it was less about cars and more about food at in the . People weren’t set on testing out the newest car models, but instead had their eyes set on some of the grub served up during the Mobile Food Fest. And I was one of them.
The parking lot transformed into a short-lived food court full of mobile food trucks including MiniBurger, Wicked Wich, Mama Kim’s, Drewski's Hot Rod Kitchen and VolksWaffle.
From 5-8 p.m. the vendors quickly cooked up dinner for some Roseville foodies. The menu included gourmet fare like garlic and truffle oil topped tater tots, a s’more-like sandwich with nutella, marshmallow and graham cracker, hand-pressed waffles and mini burgers.

I heard good things about all of the vendors, but especially Mini Burger. On the MiniBurger menu were two- or three-packs of bite-sized burgers including the Cowbell – a Black Angus burger topped with bacon, pepperjack cheese, grilled onions and barbecue sauce; and the Ninja – topped with Asian slaw, pea shoots, lous chips and Shiracha aioli. They also cook up a seasonal mini. Thursday’s was called the Lil Squirt – squirt-braised carnitas topped with chipotle barbecue sauce, pineapple salsa and avocado crema. Every month, a portion of the sales from their seasonal burgers goes to a local charity.
At Mama Kim’s, the menu included fish tacos with local albacore topped with tomatillo, avocado and pico de gallo and a tri-tip sandwich.

The event was mostly advertised through Twitter and grabbed the attention of Roseville food and mobile fare lovers. A similar mobile fest was held in for Thursday Night Roundups. Follow @SacFoodTrucks on Twitter to find out where they’ll stop next.
