New Braces Options for Kids

There have been a number of advances in orthodontic treatment options for kids and teenagers, including ceramic braces and Invisalign Teen.

Innovations in orthodontic care have brought about a host of new orthodontic options for patients of all ages. While some treatments have been designed for adults, a number of newer choices are available for kids. Here is a look at some of the latest types of braces for younger patients.

Ceramic Braces

Like metal braces, ceramic ones use a combination of brackets and wires to straighten teeth. Instead of displaying gleaming metal, however, ceramic brackets are translucent or tinted like teeth to improve discretion. Some options also have self-ligating brackets that are more comfortable and work more quickly.

Invisalign Teen

The counterpart to Invisalign Full, which is designed for adults and some older adolescents, Invisalign Teen is created for teens younger than about 17 years old. This system comes with unique features to address the needs of patients in this age group, including accommodation for continuing growth and extra aligners in case some go missing.

Even metal braces from our expert in braces for kids in Rocklin have extra options for kids who want a creative look. With colored rubber bands, kids can reach their orthodontic goals in the style they choose. Patients can schedule a consultation with our orthodontist to find out more about the types of braces available for kids.
