- The City of Roseville announced yesterday that new conservation efforts will be required of city water users as severe drought conditions continue. The announcement reassured that the City has "adequate supplies to meet demand," but that the "drought situation is becoming more urgent." Roseville Residents will be required to reduce their water use by 20% by August 9th. New landscape watering restrictions will go into effect beginning August 9th. Residents who are unsure how to reduce their water use are encouraged to visit the City's Water Efficiency page for help. You can even schedule a "Water Wise" house call to receive one-on-one help for your specific household. (City of Roseville What's Happening and City of Roseville Water Efficiency)
- As city crews continue to "pave the way" to smoother transportation, literally, you should be aware that work begins tomorrow on Foothills Boulevard between Cirby Way and Denio Loop. While roads remain open during construction, there may be some reduction of usable lanes or slowdowns. Be sure to check the message boards in the area if you need to drive that direction. (City of Roseville)
- Bikers will soon swarm the streets and sidewalks of Roseville once again - that is, school children biking their way to class as the new school year kicks off. Make sure the pedalers in your family are primed and properly outfitted for a safe commute with these tips from Roseville Police Department spokesperson Rob Baquera. (Roseville Today)
- The City of Roseville is considering a purchase of five electric buses to replace its current public transportation fleet of diesel buses. The zero-carbon vehicles would cost $4.8 million that would come from state, local and federal sources. The purchase is on the consent calendar for the City Council Meeting tonight. - It sounds like something out of a child's storybook. It could be titled The Runaway Bear, or perhaps Have You Seen My Bear? Officials at the Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care facility in South Lake Tahoe are asking local residents to help them find a bear cub that gave them the slip yesterday. The little guy was injured in the Tamarack Fire in July and was being rehabilitated at the center when he got out of his enclosure and tunneled under the electric fence. Maybe it should be a TV series: Jailbreak: Bear Country? (KCRA3)
