New Retirement community provides in-demand care services to expanding senior population
The first wave of America’s 77 million baby boomers entered their senior years in 2011, expanding the number of U.S. residents over the age of 65 to 41.4 million. Working to provide more living and care options to the largest and fastest growing age group in America, Oakmont Senior Living recently opened Oakmont of Roseville (http://www.oakmontofroseville.com), the company’s third retirement community to be completed this year.
Located at 1101 Secret Ravine Parkway, Oakmont of Roseville is a new resort-style assisted living and memory care community just north of Sacramento. The community provides luxury living and a wide range of custom care services that allow seniors to continue to live a healthy and rewarding life with the day-to-day assistance they may need.
Due to the high demand for local retirement options, the community opens with roughly 85 percent of its 80 private apartment homes occupied. A full staff of licensed vocational nurses, care managers, medical technicians, maintenance technicians and administrative workers have also been hired from the local community. Oakmont of Roseville is open for tours seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
At Oakmont of Roseville, physical, intellectual and emotional wellness is the foundation of a gratifying retirement. From gourmet meals and concierge services, to enjoying a screening in the movie theater and working in the resident gardens, Oakmont Senior Living has taken great care to create not just a community, but a comfortable lifestyle.
Other onsite amenities include a library, fitness center, salon and day spa and a pet park. Daily entrainment, activity programs and exercise classes, such as yoga and strength training, are also offered to keep seniors active and social.
As an assisted living community, Oakmont of Roseville provides residents access to 24-hour medical services or assistance all in the privacy of their own homes. Services are customized and include medication reminders, housekeeping, blood pressure checks, flu shots, dietary guidance and temporary in-home care for those recuperating from an illness or injury. For diabetic residents, Oakmont of Roseville offers a Diabetes Wellness
Program that provides customized meals, exercise activities, glucometer readings, daily evaluations and much more. Residents can also take advantage of the Concierge Medicine Program administered by a local physician. This program offers 24-hour access to medical assistance, same-day or next-day onsite appointments and preventative care and treatments.
Oakmont of Roseville also specializes in memory care and caters to individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, including early memory loss. The community offers unique programs that strengthen and engage dementia patients, including doll therapy, music and singing activities, craft making and tasks such as pairing socks and polishing silverware. Custom memory activity boxes that reflect hobbies, work experience and family are also assembled daily.
Construction on Oakmont of Roseville commenced last summer. The Roseville community opens following the completion of similar projects in Brea, CA called Capriana and Villagio. Oakmont Senior Living is currently constructing an additional three retirement communities throughout California that are expected to be completed next year.
