Here are the top stories today in Roseville:

  1. Get ready to eat your weight in meat! Brazilian steakhouse Galpão Gaucho is opening at the Galleria in Roseville. Have you been to one of these steakhouses before? The restaurant is "all you can eat," and with the cuts they have you can eat a lot, believe me! Gauchos with skewers come to your table and cut you off a slab of whatever they have, including various cuts of beef, pork, seafood and even pineapple, until you make them stop. Oh, and there are sides, too. (ABC10.com KXTV)
  2. If you have a vacation home up the hill where it snows, Placer County officials advise you to monitor the roof and systems for heavy snow buildup. Check chimneys and flues, too. "Blockages can lead to carbon monoxide buildup in buildings, creating a potentially unsafe interior environment. The heavy snow may also cause chimneys to shift, creating potential falling hazards." (Roseville Today)
  3. The City of Roseville is hosting a job fair on January 28. "We are hiring for multiple positions throughout the City of Roseville for part-time, full-time and seasonal jobs. Some of the current openings include preschool, adult sports, aquatics, child care, garbage truck drivers, maintenance workers, libraries, park maintenance, water efficiency and many more." The event will be at the Mahany Fitness Center starting at 9:00 a.m. (Press Release Desk)
  4. Ready for Roseville Today's next installment of new California laws that may impact Rosevillians? Today's session covers "Medi-Cal, real estate brokers, juvenile records, sexual assault, student nutrition and more."
  5. Roseville Police were called to the Walmart Supercenter on Lead Hill Boulevard and Rocky Ridge Drive on Sunday with a report of shots fired. When they arrived, a little after 7:00 p.m. they saw no evidence of the shooting. Roseville Police Department spokesman Rob Baquera says police believe "the incident involved two vehicles, neither of which were at the scene when officers arrived. As of Monday morning, no gunshot wound-related injuries have been reported to nearby hospitals." (Sacramento Bee via MSN)
