- Visit Palisades Tahoe in Placer County! Wait. You may already have visited many times.... Squaw Valley is changing its name to Palisades Tahoe, dropping what was perceived as a derogatory term in the name. Along with the name change comes a new logo that combines the two mountains that makeup Palisades Tahoe with the outline of an eagle. Resort officials said that implementing the new name and branding has already begun, but they expect the full change to be a multi-year process. (FOX40)
