Today’s Top 5 Stories You Need to Know About:
- Several Roseville Police officers sustained minor injuries trying to detain a driver in what began as a traffic violation stop. The altercation took place at the corner of Junction and Washington Boulevards on Monday morning. The driver exited his vehicle and became combative, prompting additional officers to arrive and assist. The driver was eventually detained and charged with several violations, including assaulting an officer and being under the influence of a controlled substance. (PCCW)
- Getting a COVID-19 vaccination just became easier thanks to Placer County and SnapNurse. The two have teamed up to bring a mobile vaccination van to Westfield Galleria today 10:00am-8:00pm, and to Denio’s Farmers Market this Saturday 7:00am-3:20pm and Sunday 7:00am-5:00pm. Vaccinations are free – just walk up to the van. (RT)
- Rising gasoline prices around this time of year usually lead to an increase in fuel thefts. Our Placer County Sheriff’s Office has received a handful of reports involving fuel siphoned out of vehicles. PCSO recommends taking precautions like buying a locking gas cap, installing a surveillance system on your property and noting your gas level frequently to determine if tampering has occurred. (PCSO)
- Ten years after every federal census, counties redraw the boundaries for federal, state and local elected offices to reflect the new population data. Public participation is pivotal to the redistricting process. The Placer County Redistricting Commission wants your input! Sign up to receive notifications for important updates and meetings so you can be part of the process. (PC)

About me
My name is Kelly Mays Risse, and I have lived in Roseville just about all my life. I graduated from Roseville High School majored in Journalism at CSU Sacramento. If you recognize me, it may be from St. Clare Church, where I worked the past 10 years. Or maybe from the myriad activities my husband and I have been part of while raising our three boys here. I have watched Roseville grow from a cheerful little railroad town to a large and diverse city. I love where we live, from the hiking trails to the hip new restaurants, and the people who live here. I am excited to bring the highlights to you!
