Photo Gallery: Softball Tournament Attracts Thousands to Roseville

The Girl's 14 A Western National Softball Championships started Aug. 1 with an opening ceremony. The tournament is expected to be the largest tourism event hosted in the city.

Monday evening marked the start of the opening ceremony of the hosted by the .

Almost 100 softball teams from across the Western United States gathered at for the ceremony marking the start of the tournament. Approximately 1,500 players were expected to participate, drawing about 2,000 parents and fans and 400 coaches to the city.

This is expected to be the largest tourism event Roseville has hosted to date. The more than 3,000 visitors are expected to infuse more than $3 million into the local economy.
