Here are the top stories today in Roseville:

  1. Did you know that the Roseville Police Department offers the opportunity to file a police report online? You can file a lost property report or a crime report easily and conveniently from your own home. However, if you prefer to talk directly to an officer, they will still gladly come to your house to take the report. (Roseville Today)
  2. This one is a bit of a tear jerker. The (aptly named) Foresthill Wildfires were back on the gridiron on Friday night for the first time since the Mosquito Fire came within yards of burning down their campus. They haven't practiced in three weeks, because they were busy evacuating and worrying about their homes and friends, but through grit and determination, they played a "pretty gosh-darn good football game," according to their coach, Mark Tumminelli. Unfortunately a win on the field was not in the cards for the team on Friday, but getting back on the field and giving it their all after what they had been through was a win for everybody. (Gold Country Media)
  3. From the County of Placer: "The Placer County Health and Human Services Department - Public Health Division is working towards gaining a deeper understanding of the issues important to those who live, work, learn, shop, or play in Placer County. Your input is important and will be used to develop plans and programs to improve the quality of life in Placer County. All information provided is anonymous and will be kept confidential." You can take the survey at this county link. (placer.ca.us)
  4. The Roseville Police Department has published the latest edition of their Public Safety Newsletter. In this edition you'll learn about Coffee with a Cop, BikeFest, safety tips for trick or treat and more! You'll also meet Roseville PD's two newest officers. It's a great read! (City of Roseville Police Department)
  5. You're not too late to catch the second day of NASA's International Space Apps Challenge event being held in Folsom! According to ABC10 "'Space Apps' is the largest annual global hackathon in the world, according to the event’s website. Teams engage in NASA’s free and open data to address real-world problems on Earth and in space." The teams have been working on their challenges and the results will be presented to judges this afternoon. The event takes place rom 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Granite School located at 909 Mormon Street in Folsom. Here are the 23 challenges submitted by NASA experts this year: https://2022.spaceappschallenge.org/challenges/ (ABC10.com KXTV)
