  1. Placer County, home to an aging population relative to the state as a whole, recently joined the AARP’s Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities. The City of Roseville has had that designation since 2019. “Becoming part of this nationwide network reflects our county’s commitment to creating a more livable, age-friendly community for older adults,” said Amy Ellis, director of the county’s Adult System of Care.   2. The Placer County Board of Supervisors Tuesday approved several policy changes related to increasing the affordable housing in the county's developed unincorporated areas. Some would allow for new housing types like moveable tiny homes and co-housing or “cottage home” developments as well as a new design manual for multi-family housing. The changes take effect July 14. (Roseville Today)
  3. Lincoln Police arrested three men on Saturday, who were believed to be responsible for a construction site heist Saturday morning. A citizen witnessed the theft early Saturday morning at a construction site on Nisenen Valley Drive. After the witness made a call to 911 reporting the type of vehicles that the suspects were using, Lincoln Police responded to the area and found vehicles matching the description and arrested the occupants. "According to the information shared by police, the suspects were identified as Omar Alejo, 38, of Sacramento, Oscar Guillen, 35, of Sacramento and Jose Loya-Carlon, 35 of Sacramento."   4. On Friday, several Placer County agencies held their own torch run for Special Olympics. A group of runners carried the torch from the Auburn Justice Center to the Historic Courthouse. “We just wanted to show our support within the county and show the county itself what we’re doing with the Special Olympics,” Placer County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Ty Conners said. The Special Olympics will be held next weekend at Santa Clara University. (Gold Country Media)
  5. Road resurfacing, a Regional Sports Complex and utility infrastructure improvements are among many infrastructure and capital projects included in the FY22-23 budget approved by the Roseville City Council at its June 15 meeting. The combined capital improvement program budget is $105 million. (roseville.ca.us)

  • For those looking for a more low-key and casual alternative to large shows, the Downtown Roseville Concert series serves up some fun. Enjoy free music at the Town Square while grabbing a bite to eat or stopping by the beer garden for a cold one. Gates open at 6:30pm, concerts start at 7:30 p.m. (Roseville Today)
  • Author Morgan Cochneuer will be doing a presentation of his book “The ABC’s of Jug Band Music,” demonstrating instruments and signing books at Barnes and Noble on July 2 at 1 p.m.
  • Rocklin’s Moksa Brewing & Granite Bay’s Hawks Restaurant are teaming up! Moksa Barrel House” will be a taproom, coffee bar, beer bar, and restaurant! Watch for it opening in Roseville on the corner of Blue Oaks & Foothills in the very near future!
