Here are the top five stories today in Roseville:

  1. Multiple agencies are investigating after four people were found allegedly stealing from a Kohls store in Folsom, authorities said. A police chase with Folsom officers started just after 7 p.m. Sunday night. The pursuit continued onto Highway 50 where the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office took over. The pursuit ended in Sacramento where all four suspects were detained. The suspects also stole from stores in Roseville before going to Folsom, according to authorities. (KCRA3)
  2. Two people have been arrested in connection to 20 vehicle burglaries in Rocklin, police said. Authorities said the burglaries were reported throughout the city on Saturday. The perpetrators were found and arrested in Sacramento. Seems like the thing to do over the weekend was to steal stuff in Placer county and then make a run for it to Sacramento. Authorities said even though two people were arrested, they will continue to investigate. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Rocklin Police Department at 916-625-5400. (KCRA3)
  3. Rocklin Firefighters responded to a duplex structure fire in the South Whitney area Friday morning and were able to keep the fire from spreading to any adjacent structures. The duplex’s occupants, a mother, her four children and a dog, safely made it outside. According to Rocklin Firefighters, the duplex occupants didn’t know there was a fire and a witness rushed in to get them out before first responders arrived Friday morning. Big Thank You! to that good Samaritan! (Gold Country Media)
  4. Do you love the farm to fork tastes of the region as much as I do? If so, you'll be glad to know that the 2022 farmer's market schedules are out! They'll take you all the way from roasted beets and sweet potatoes this time of year through to my favorite juicy ripe tomatoes in the summer. YUM! (Roseville Today)
  5. In June, Placer County District Attorney Morgan Gire joined with other district attorneys from around the state and filed a civil lawsuit against the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation due to a new regulation awarding additional conduct credits to more than 76,000 violent and serious offenders. The District Attorneys, requested a temporary restraining order to prohibit this regulation from going into effect. On Dec. 29, the court issued a temporary restraining order that took effect immediately. District Attorney Morgan Gire said, “We will continue to challenge this wholesale shortening of sentences and the early release of dangerous and violent criminals into our communities. The issuance of this temporary restraining order is a step in the right direction to hold criminals accountable for their actions and to protect victims, survivors, and our communities.” (Roseville Today)
