Here are the top five stories in Roseville today:

  1. Gonna hit the river for Memorial Day? Authorities are reminding you to wear a life jacket! One person was rescued on the American River near Ancil Hoffman park on Saturday at around 5 p.m. Saturday. They were taken to a local hospital in critical condition. The river is cold and fast this time of year, so don't go in without a floatation device even if you are a strong swimmer! (KCRA3)
  2. The Placer County Master Gardeners recently hosted their 35th annual Mother's Day Garden Tour and it was a smash hit! The tour this year hosted more than 650 people, the largest attendance ever. Six beautiful gardens in Auburn, Loomis and Granite Bay were featured. Missed the show and your chance to ask these Master Gardeners questions? No worries! You can contact Master Gardeners for answers to gardening questions any time on the PCMG hotline at 530-889-7388. (Gold Country Media)
  3. Hundreds of attendees flocked to the Sunrise Mall parking lot in Citrus Heights for a “Brews in the Burbs” event on Saturday, enjoying games and sampling various beers and food truck flavors. Marketing Director for the Marketplace, Lisa Cordell, said almost 800 people were in attendance just before 7 p.m., but she expected that number to grow before the event concluded at 9 p.m. as she said said VIP tickets sold out, and over 800 general admission tickets were sold. (Citrus Heights Sentinel)
  4. City of Rocklin constituents planning a residential construction project now have access to an online permit guide to assist with the City’s permitting process. The easy-to-use tool can be found at rocklin.ca.us/permit-guide and includes a step-by-step outline of the process that will be needed to obtain the correct building permit. Topics covered include everything from bath and kitchen remodels, to home additions, to building an entire single-family residence. (Rocklin.ca.us)
  5. Hey, dogs are excited that the pandemic is over, too! They've been cooped up and are looking for some social interaction. Why not take them to a dog park where you can take them off leash and they can hang with their friends for a while? Here's a comprehensive list from Roseville Today of all of the dog parks in Roseville and Rocklin. (Roseville Today)
