- The Roseville Police Department released its 2022 Annual Summary Report on Tuesday. Most crime, including property crime, was down year over year. Unfortunately, "violent crimes saw an increase of four percent since 2021 due to an increase in reported rapes by 73 percent and robberies by 16 percent." (KTXL FOX 40 Sacramento)
- The Placer SPCA is looking for nominations for its Hero Next Door Award. "If you know an animal that has done great things for people, or people who have done great things for animals, please submit a nomination by February 20, 2023 online." Past award recipients include a K9 officer and his partner, and a registered therapy dog. The award will be presented at Placer SPCA’s Funny Bones & Hollywood Tails Gala & Awards Night on March 16. - Roads were shut down on Monday near Stanford Ranch Road and Highland Park Drive, due to a major traffic accident that involved a single vehicle. The driver was taken to the hospital. The road was reopened Monday evening. (ABC10.com KXTV)
- Roseville is getting another garden! A beer garden, that is. Fieldwork Brewing is planning on opening a site as part of the Roseville Junction project. "Fieldwork has outdoor, European-style beer gardens that are family and dog-friendly" and the Roseville opening is expected in about a year. (ABC10.com KXTV)

- First, you knew it as Passport Weekend. After the pandemic, it was renamed "The Great Out There." Now, the monickers are combined and it's Passport to the Great Out There. Whatever you call it, it's a weekend of fun in the Foothill Wine Country and it's returning this year on April 22 -23! "The popular annual event allows guests to experience 20 family-owned wineries throughout El Dorado County, with each winery offering signature food and wine tastings, reserve wines, and other surprises." It'll be beautiful up there that time of year! Enjoy! (Roseville Today)
