- Placer County proclaimed a state of emergency, due to the ongoing winter storms. Parts of Placer County sustained blizzard conditions last week and suffered extensive structural damage. One person lost their life due to the storms. “This week’s storms added to an already challenging winter for our communities, and it’s not over yet,” said Placer Director of Emergency Services and County Executive Officer Jane Christenson. - Spring is right around the corner, so it's time to start thinking about all of those spectacular buds about to bloom! Folsom wants you to be knowledgeable about your garden, what you can do to protect it and help it flourish, while also being kind to the environment and keeping water usage to a minimum. Head over to the Folsom Landscape Fest on Saturday, March 25! It's free and family friendly. (Roseville Today)
- Del Oro High School in Loomis has some mighty fine wrestlers! Three of them medaled at the state level. "For the Del Oro boys, freshman Siraj Sidhu placed fifth at 106 and senior Issac Herrera placed seventh at 126." And Del Oro female wrestler freshman Kaiya Maggini placed fourth. (Gold Country Media)
- RPD 101 is "an introductory course designed for Roseville residents interested in furthering their knowledge of the inner working of the Roseville Police Department." The current class completed its first week of instruction! "Students learned about Dispatch, Patrol, the Social Services Unit, Animal Control, Community Services Officers, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (drones), the Traffic Unit, School Resource Officers, SWAT, and the Placer County District Attorney." "This event brings together the community and business leaders to help raise awareness of the young professionals in the South Placer region.
