Update: Police Arrest Suspected Wells Fargo Bank Robber

Ogan Gencer, 20, of Roseville was arrested on suspicion of robbing the bank Tuesday morning.

Roseville Police detectives have Tuesday morning.

A man, wearing a black wig, at Sierra College and Douglas boulevards just after 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, handed the teller a demand note and claimed to have a weapon, according to Dee Dee Gunther with the Roseville Police Department. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Roseville officers conducted an extensive search, but weren't able to locate the suspect in the area of the robbery. Detectives continued to follow up on leads, and at about 6 p.m. Feb. 7 arrested a suspect in Folsom. Ogan Gencer, 20, of Roseville has been taken into custody and will be booked into the Placer County Jail on $50,000 bail.

Gencer was arrested on suspicion of robbing a bank, and of falsely reporting an emergency.  Detectives believe the suspected bank robber called 911 about 15 minutes before the bank robbery, to falsely report an emergency on the other side of town from the bank.
