Police Search for Possible Armed Bank Robber

A man who claimed to have a gun, robbed Chase Bank in Roseville Monday afternoon, police say.

Roseville Police are searching for a possible armed man who reportedly robbed Chase Bank Monday afternoon.

About 1:45 p.m. a man entered the bank on Douglas Boulevard and claimed he had a gun, but no gun was seen, according to Dee Dee Gunther, spokesperson with the Roseville Police Department. Gunther said the man took an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot. No vehicles were seen, Gunther said.

Police are still searching for the man, who is described as a white male in his 20s, about 5-feet 6-inches with a skinny build and long dark brown hair. He was reportedly wearing sunglasses, a grey/greenish button shirt and had a Russian or Ukrainian accent, according to Gunther.

Officers surrounded the area searching for the suspect. One man was detained briefly, but was released.

Gunther said officers are waiting for surveillance video, which should be released later today.

No injuries were reported.
