  1. Roseville Police Officers located a stolen vehicle on Industrial Road near Galilee Road with two men inside. Upon a search, the officers found fentanyl and other drugs in the possession of one of the occupants. According to FOX40, "Derik R. Juanitas, 37, of Sacramento and Troy C. Tucker, 32, of Crescent City were found to be in possession of fentanyl, methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia, according to police." The men are now facing a slew of charges. (KTXL FOX 40 Sacramento)
  2. Nearly 1200 Rosevillians were impacted by a power outage on Wednesday morning. The outage occurred around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday near Douglas Boulevard and Interstate 80. Power was restored to all but 240 residents by 2 p.m. (ABC10.com KXTV)
  3. Four Sierra College student journalists have earned an emerging journalist fellowship. The fellowship is a "grant that supports programs at California Community Colleges and student journalists to work together and do investigative journalism on locally relevant stories." These four won the opportunity by telling the story of the American River, its relationship with local communities and the issues impacting it. Meet the team at this link from The Union. (The Union)
  4. Just in time for back to school, Placer County Public Health is holding free immunization clinics for kids who wouldn't otherwise have access to vaccinations. Children who are uninsured or have Medi-Cal can attend clinics in August and September by appointment. Parents or guardians can call 530-886-1883 to schedule an appointment, and must attend the clinic with their child and provide the child’s immunization records or a school letter. For more information, view existing Immunization Requirement for California Schools. (Roseville Today)
  5. Will the Lincoln High School Theater be named after Lee Basham, a Lincoln resident who has spent the last decade giving back to the theater program at Lincoln High School? Or maybe Paul Crabtree who was a music teacher for more than 35 years in Lincoln throughout various schools in the district? Or will it be longtime Lincoln drama instructor Ed Cummins? After months of debate, in a "dramatic" reveal the Western Placer Unified School District Board has announced that the Lincoln High School Theater will remain unnamed. The board said there were too many deserving volunteers and supporters and it didn't want to take the opportunity away from any of them. Maybe it could be called the theater that must not be named?
