First, today's weather:

We’re looking at an expected high today of 97 degrees as Summer goes out kicking and screaming, but things should cool down tonight to around 64. Winds remain at about 5-10 mph and humidity is staying low at around 28% during the day.
Here are the top stories today in Roseville:
- Our City of Roseville Utilities has taken the initiative to automatically enroll utility users to receive text messages with outage information and Peak Alert notifications. This only applies to users who have a mobile phone number associated with their utility account. You can change the settings or opt out of these texts by visiting the webpage linked here. - Roseville's Westpark neighborhood has a new place to grab a bite (or a scoop) at 2330 Pleasant Grove Blvd. MoJoe's Cafe boasts specialty coffee and tea drinks, breakfast served all day, soft serve ice cream from a local Sacramento creamery (unconfirmed rumor: it's Gunther's!) and specialty gift items. And that outdoor patio sure looks inviting! (Facebook and Subscription: Sacramento Business Journal)
- The accolades keep piling up for our local treasure, Nixtaco. The taqueria recently earned a Bib Gourmand Award from The Michelin Guide, a distinction not quite the level of a Michelin Star, but a huge accomplishment none the less. A popular dim sum restaurant in Sacramento, Yue Huang, also earned Bib Gourmand this year. Foodies, rejoice! (CBS Sacramento)
- As inevitable as death and taxes, Flu Season is upon us. Healthcare officials are urging everyone 6 months and older to get a flu shot as our healthcare system stills strains under a deluge of COVID-19 hospitalizations. "Flu is still a killer, not as much as COVID-19, but between 12,000 and 50,000 Americans lose their lives every year from flu," said Dr. Peter Hotez, vaccinologist and dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. (KCRA 3)
- Cal Expo is already planning next year's California State Fair and you could say it's going to pot. Among the agricultural events, a category has been approved for cannabis, recognizing its growing (no pun intended) role in the state's horticulture economy. Though it would probably be wildly entertaining, judges will not smoke or consume entries for the competition. Samples will be sent to a laboratory to be tested for chemical attributes and overall grooviness. (Good Day Sacramento)
