Find out what's happening in Rosevillefor free with the latest updates from Patch.

We can expect the hot days and cool nights to continue today with highs around 96 and lows around 61. The sun will be shining full force and humidity should hold steady at about 37%. We may get some cooler temperatures coming into the weekend, so hang in there.

Today’s Top 5 Stories You Need to Know About:

  1. Several retailers in the Westfield Galleria mall kicked off Pride Month yesterday by unveiling special product lines celebrating diversity and human rights. Proceeds from many of these sales will benefit organizations like The Trevor Project and GLAAD. (WG)
  2. West Roseville could get 198 new units of affordable apartments if a proposal from The Hampstead Co. is approved. The 3-story project would be at the intersection of North Hayden and Crawford Parkways and would host an on-site after school program. (SBJ)
  3. Congratulations to Roseville High School’s Rafael Meschia in winning the super singles title in Capital Valley Conference tennis finals! (GC)
  4. Sierra College opened registration for Summer 2021 and Fall 2021 classes yesterday after battling technology difficulties from an external ransomware attack on May 18. Additional online services, such as student email, are operational at this time while Sierra continues to work on restoring all other operations. (SC)
  5. Roseville will get a new restaurant, Raising Cane, on the site where On The Border used to be on Galleria Blvd. Raising Cane is a Louisiana based restaurant serving box-style meals of chicken, crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw, Texas toast and a beverage. (SBJ)

About me

My name is Kelly Mays Risse, and I have lived in Roseville just about all my life. I graduated from Roseville High School majored in Journalism at CSU Sacramento. If you recognize me, it may be from St. Clare Church, where I worked the past 10 years. Or maybe from the myriad activities my husband and I have been part of while raising our three boys here. I have watched Roseville grow from a cheerful little railroad town to a large and diverse city. I love where we live, from the hiking trails to the hip new restaurants, and the people who live here. I am excited to bring the highlights to you!
