We are expecting some very high highs with 108 anticipated for today, 114 for tomorrow and 112 for Sunday. The nights will offer little relief with lows in the 70s. At least humidity will be down in the 22% range for all three days. Winds should be around 5-10 mph all weekend. Stay cool out there.

- Many of us in Roseville felt the earth move yesterday around 3:50 pm as a swarm of earthquakes rocked NorCal. A magnitude 4.8 earthquake hit Farmington in San Joaquin County around the same time that a magnitude 5.9 was recorded in Smith Valley, Nevada. The Smith Valley area, south of Lake Tahoe, with a fault known to geologists as "Walker Lane," continued to shudder with 18 aftershocks by 5:00 pm. (KCRA and US Geological Survey)
- The Placer County District Attorney's Office just announced its Community Outreach Unit. The unit includes the Community Prosecution Unit, the Media Relations Division, Placer PROTECT, and community engagement, including the Citizens Academy and the Speakers Panel. The Citizens Academy invites Placer County residents to learn about the District Attorney’s Office, its role within the criminal justice system and the services that are provided to the community. Applications are being accepted now for the session that begins Fall 2021 . (Roseville Today)
- Roseville's biggest party of the year, the SPLASH, is back! And it's celebrating 25 great years of revelry in the name of a good cause. The big day is set for September 11 with tickets going for $85 or $150 for two (by Aug. 28). The gala will feature our area's best wineries, breweries, restaurants and bands. A portion of the proceeds go to support the City of Roseville's At Risk Youth Programs. (Roseville Chamber of Commerce)
- Great parks are one of the reasons Roseville is such a cool (literally) place to live. While the city keeps growing, new parks are planned all the time - and they all need names. The City of Roseville wants your ideas to name seven new parks currently in the works. Be whimsically creative, or suggest someone worthy to have a park bearing their name. I believe in you, Roseville! (City of Roseville)
- According to public records, University of Beer plans to expand to a new Roseville location at 1516 Eureka Road (formerly occupied by Broderick Roadhouse). Records also indicate that some interior renovation will occur before opening. Featuring about 40 different taps at each location, the business calls itself "a beer lover's paradise."
