- I didn't realize this, but I guess community theater in the U.S. is getting really expensive to produce and ticket sales just don't cover it, so theaters are charging performers a "workshop fee" to be in the productions. Thanks to generous sponsors in Rocklin, Rocklin Community Theatre is able to offers teen actors scholarships. The scholarships are limited, but each production has several actors and musicians who are sponsored by this money. Do you know someone that wants to act, but can't afford the fee? - Roseville's Dump Day on Saturday was a screaming success! One hundred appliances, 122 electronic waste items, 96 tires and 63 mattresses were collected along with 136 cubic yards of garbage. There are only fived more Dump Days scheduled for Northern California this year. The closest to Roseville would be either Placerville or West Sacramento. (KTXL FOX 40 Sacramento)
- A 68-year-old Roseville man was killed in a head-on crash on Walerga Road in Antelope on Friday night. The man was driving a Corvette that crossed a median and crashed head-on into a sedan travelling in the opposite direction. Police say the man who was killed was under the influence of alcohol and was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the sedan suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. The name of the deceased has not been released. (CBS Sacramento)
- Jodie Robinson, 19, of Roseville on Saturday recorded her first career Placerville Speedway Winged Sprint Car victory. Her father David and brother Ryan are already on the all-time Placerville Speedway Winged 360 Sprint Car win list. Jodie's win marks the first time a father, son and daughter have all had a place on the list. (Roseville Press Tribune)
