Here are the top five stories today in Roseville:

  1. City Of Roseville Utilities' youth art contest is back, and officials want you to get creative. Tell with artwork what your Roseville utilities (garbage, water, wastewater, and electric) mean to you and your family. Using the theme “We Are Your Roseville Utility,” go wild with markers, crayons, colored pencils or whatever you want to use for the poster contest. (Press Release Desk)
  2. The Roseville City School District’s annual free summer meal program will run through July 29. Anyone 18 and younger is eligible for free breakfast and lunch with no registration needed. The Summer Meals Program is made possible through funding from the United States Department of Agriculture. Participating locations include Antelope Crossing, Barrett Ranch Elementary School, Cirby and Woodbridge Elementary School. To learn more about locations, dates and times, call 916-771-1675, ext. 50248. (Roseville Today)
  3. Roseville police are warning of a scheme where the perpetrator switches gas pump nozzles. One Roseville man was caught on camera doing just that. The thief switches the nozzles with a different pump, so when you think you are pumping gas into your car, the guy next to you has your nozzle and is actually getting the gas in his - but you're paying for it. "We’ve seen a few cases historically where this has worked and we have been able to fortunately catch people,” said Rob Baquera with Roseville Police. (ABC10)
  4. In a message from The Roseville Joint Union High School District, Superintendent John Becker helps us understand just what goes into getting ready for the upcoming school year. The work never stops, even during the summer. "To prepare all campuses for the 2022-23 school year, each and every classroom, table chair and learning space will be deep cleaned from top to bottom. Repairs, replacements, refreshes – our campuses get the full treatment each summer to welcome everyone back in August." Many of the stadium snack bars will also be updated or constructed this year, starting with Antelope High School. (Roseville Today)
