- If you live in Lincoln or Rocklin you will soon be able to take advantage of a pilot program from Placer County Transit. Dubbed "microtransit" it will be part of the county's current dial-a-ride program. The pilot will allow you to request real-time service from your smartphone, similar to the way Lyft and Uber operate. If the pilot is successful, it will be rolled out to "'all of our city partners in the months to come,' said Public Works Director Ken Grehm." (Roseville Today)
- There may soon be a hotel at the corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Greenback Lane in Citrus Heights. “The proposed hotel land use at the 2.8-acre site supports the vision set forth in the Sunrise Tomorrow Specific Plan to redevelop the 100-acre Sunrise Mall property into a mixed-use destination with multifamily residential, retail, entertainment, hospitality, office and community space,” the city said in its Oct. 14 announcement. (Citrus Heights Sentinel)
- The City of Rocklin has published a recap of their October 11 City Council Meeting. They received report outs on the 2024 Metropolitan Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy “Blueprint” and the Atherton sewer improvements. The City Council also unanimously approved an option to add a fire recruit classification to the department which would allow the City fire department to recruit folks without the California Firefighter I certificate, and then send them to training. - Did you catch the 2022 Sacramento Walk like MADD event in Roseville on Saturday? Folks came out to walk for a good cause, raising money to help eliminate drunk and drugged driving. It was a very successful event, raising at least $91K of their $52K goal! If you missed it, City Councilmember Scott Alvord took some photos for you. Check them out on his Facebook page.
