Here are the top stories today in Roseville:
- A woman is awfully lucky that the Rocklin Police responded to a call about a car on the tracks on Rocklin Road. When they arrived, they found the car sitting on the railroad tracks and the driver wandering nearby. When they administered a field sobriety test, they allegedly found her blood alcohol level to be twice the legal limit. Police requested Union Pacific Railway suspend all traffic on the tracks until the vehicle could be removed. (KTXL FOX 40 Sacramento)
- Nurses at Northern California Kaiser Permanente reached a tentative agreement with their employer and averted a planned strike. "The Northern California RNs and NPs will vote to ratify the new contract over the next few weeks. " (Roseville Today)
- A new traffic signal on Taylor Road at the Golfland Sunsplash driveway was activated on Thursday. It's designed to streamline traffic at the intersection, and features a flashing yellow arrow. "When a yellow arrow flashes, you are allowed to cautiously enter the intersection to make your left turn after yielding to oncoming traffic, including pedestrians and bicyclists." (Press Release Desk)
- Here's an amazing Roseville PD Social Services Unit success story: Roseville police received several calls about an individual who was wheelchair-bound and unhoused, and the Social Services Unit intervened. Read the heartwarming story on the RPD Facebook page and you'll understand why this individual needed a little extra assistance through some tough red-tape situations. - The 13th annual Loomis Basin Holiday Home Tour takes place December 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It's a fundraiser to benefit local schools, but it's much more than that. It's a way to get into the holiday spirit! With homes decked out in beautiful holiday decor, there will be no humbugs after this tour concludes! (Gold Country Media)
