Here are the top five stories today in Roseville:

  1. Looking for 4th of July weekend fun? Roseville Today has a Quick Guide to the 4th of July Weekend with festivities and tips for summer fun across Placer County. I'd love to see the drone show in Tahoe! (Roseville Today)
  2. Folsom Lake is in a unique position in California, because the atmospheric river event that we had last year went right over Folsom, filling up our reservoir. Other reservoirs in the state were not quite as lucky. Folsom is at 107% of average for this time of year and others are less than half of that. Because of that Folsom can help out our neighbors. That's why you have seen Folsom releasing some of our precious resource of water from the dam this week. The majority of the higher flow is to help flush out salt water that is pushing up into the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. The increased salinity threatens drinking water supplies and other environmental resources. It doesn't hurt my feelings that it is also 4th of July weekend and there's a lot more water to play in in the American River! (CBS Sacramento)
  3. Roseville Aquatics Complex is still closed on Sundays, hampered by equipment and labor challenges. When it opens, it will have a brand new slide and new nature themed spray park, but the supply chain is putting a damper on those features for this year. They do not have an anticipated date for completion other than to say that they are hopeful everything will be completed sometime this summer. (Roseville Today)
  4. Placer County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a two-year agreement with the Placer County Resource District to extend the chipper program. This program is available to residents to reduce fire fuel and protect their homes and neighborhoods. 900 chipping services (4,000 tons of chipped material) have been completed since the inception of the pilot program and capacity has tripled through the program. (Gold Country Media)
  5. The brother of the Inderkum High School basketball star who was hit and killed by former Placer County CEO Todd Leopold has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Leopold. The family is seeking damages to include the cost of the funeral and burial. (CBS Sacramento)
