  1. This one will warm your heart: The Roseville Volunteer Force made holiday magic come true for one Roseville family. The father recently died overseas and the mom has her hands full raising three kids with special needs without a father. The Roseville volunteers became her secret Santa. They raised $5,869.95 for the family! Then, they secretly met with Mom to give her the check, so she can use it to put presents under the tree, bring in a feast, or whatever else she wants to do for the family. She said she plans to write "from Mom and Dad" on the cards for the kids. Sounds like a very Merry Christmas, indeed! (Roseville Volunteer Force via Facebook)
  2. Want to really get into the festive spirit of Christmas? The neighborhoods in and around Roseville have some of the most spectacular lights displays around! If you're not sure which ones pack the most bang for the buck, Gold Country Media can help. My son and I did the Pebble Creek loop for years, sometimes bringing my parents with us. It was a wonderful tradition!
  3. Roseville Today is still working for you, finding the new California laws that could impact you. Hundreds of new laws will take effect in January, so I'm most grateful to the publication for helping make sense of it all for me.
  4. For the 18th year in a row, Roseville was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for the city's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. "This is a very prestigious award and represents the extraordinary time, care and effort given to producing our financial statements each year," said Dennis Kauffman, the City of Roseville Chief Financial Officer and Assistant City Manager. • Looking for a perfect lead-in to Christmas? Try Sutter Street Theater's Christmas Eve production of The Magic Toy Shop! The little theater is right smack dab in the middle of festive Sutter Street, which is all decked out in its Christmas finery and the show is sure to dazzle.
