- A solo-vehicle crash on westbound I-80 was reported around 5:40 a.m. on Tuesday. A Roseville man was pronounced dead at the scene. It is believed a medical emergency may have been the cause of death, rather than the automobile accident, CHP said. The man's name has not yet been released. (Bay City News)
- Placer County has added a mental health crisis center to the Adult System of Care Campus in Roseville. The Lotus Behavioral Health Crisis Center is a voluntary urgent care center for Placer residents experiencing a mental health crisis. The center will provide care for up to two days while residents "decompress" in a calm, nurturing environment. Individuals will have access to clinicians and other support experts who can help them access wrap-around services like housing opportunities and substance use treatment after discharge. “Our goal here is to really help them see that they can build that support system around them right here in their community and stay safe here, and not have to go to a hospitalization to get back on track to their goals,” Amy Ellis, director of the Adult System of Care division said. - Roseville officials suspect arson in two fires that merged into one along I-80 in Roseville on Monday. One fire was started in a dumpster behind a store on Sunrise and the other was started along I-80 at Atlantic. Soon, the two fires merged, torching about 3 acres before being brought under control. The back of one place of business was scorched. Officials are searching for the suspect, but no description has been released. (KCRA Sacramento)
- The city of Rocklin will officially open Phase 1 of the East Trails at the Sunset Whitney Recreation Area at 9 a.m. today. This will add over a mile of trails to the area. “When the City Council purchased 184 acres of a green space at the heart of Rocklin in 2017 they envisioned an oasis for recreation, relaxation and outdoor activities,” said Mayor Halldin. “The opening of the first section of the East Trails will be another step in seeing this vision become a reality, and I look forward to all the SWRA trails being opened later this year.” (Roseville Today)
- A heat advisory remains in effect for Roseville and the surrounding areas until 8 p.m. on Friday. The hottest weather is expected today. The National Weather Service advises "drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors.
