Here are the top stories in Roseville today:

  1. There's so much to love about celebrating our nation's birthday. Let's talk about our favorite thing - safety! That's right, the best part of 4th of July is playing it safe so all your favorite people are here to party with you again next year. Our friends at Roseville Today have a comprehensive checklist to help you and your guests keep the fun going. (Roseville Today)
  2. You've spent all week planning the perfect Independence Day bash, perfecting your potato salad, carving creative sculptures from watermelons. Don't forget the most important party moodsetter - the music. The right tunes can take your party from blah to yeah! Luckily, all your favorite patriotic jams are right here! (YouTube)
  3. The 2nd Annual Placer Valley Eats begins Monday, July 5! For the next four weeks, restaurants in the cities of Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln and Loomis will showcase special menu items and promotions to customers. Roseville takes the first week, July 5-11. Check out the restaurant guide and support your local eateries! (RCC)
  4. EchoPark, an automotive reconditioning facility based in Charlotte, NC, will soon open at 180 N. Sunrise Ave. in the former Fry's Electronics location. EchoPark reconditions and sells low-mileage cars that are 1-4 years old. The Roseville site will be first in the Sacramento area and only the second in California. (CoR)
  5. As of yesterday, three major forest fires near Mt. Shasta had burned approximately 60 square miles of land. Fire crews are making progress on the Salt, Lava and Tennant fires, but high temperatures over the weekend are not expected to help their efforts. If you are headed into the wilderness this weekend, be aware that many campgrounds and parks have restrictions on open fires. (KCRA)
