- City Councilmember Scott Alvord took a tour of West Park High. He posted a few pictures and some reflections. He says he's watched the progress from the groundbreaking to today. It's a beautiful school! Check it out! (Facebook.com)
- Roseville has three locations where you can take your unused prescription and over-the-counter drugs, controlled substances and veterinary medications for takeback day. The takeback happens October 29. In Roseville you can take them to the Maidu Community Center, Roseville High School or Sun City. If those aren't convenient, there are six other locations in Placer County that are participating. (Roseville Today)
- An astute family helped Roseville police take down the bad guy. Their trailer was stolen from the 1900 block of Taylor Road while they slept. They had left their cell phone in the trailer, and were able to use the "find my phone" feature. They drove by the location and saw their SUV parked in a driveway. They immediately called Roseville police for help. RPD commends the family for partnering with them, but not approaching the suspect. Police say they don't recommend you leave valuables like your phone in the car, though this time it worked to their advantage. Instead, "you can also get small, inexpensive GPS tracking tags to attach to your valuable items, and we highly recommend them." (Roseville Police Department via Facebook)
- A beautiful 23-acre nature park in Citrus Heights is taking shape. It should be ready to be enjoyed by the public soon. It will include a trail that is three quarters of a mile long, five bridges, and two new playgrounds. The park "stretches from Sunrise Boulevard, north of PetSmart, diagonally through the development toward Fair Oaks Boulevard, just before Greenback Lane." (Citrus Heights Sentinel)
