Here are the top stories today in Roseville:

  1. The Nightmare Before Christmas turned into a nightmare before Halloween for one Roseville family whose Halloween decorations were slashed by vandals on Wednesday night. The family said they have about $4,000 sunk into their extensive inflatable Halloween decorations, many depicting characters from Nightmare Before Christmas. Vandals didn't care about the expense or the happiness this display brings to kids in the neighborhood. Roseville police say about four families were hit on the block, with Ring cameras catching some of the activity. (KCRA Sacramento)
  2. Master Amitis Pourarian, owner of Roseville's The Studio Martial Arts & Fitness, gained the rank of 8th degree black belt at a taekwondo championship in Citrus Heights. This makes Master Pourarian one of the youngest female "high ranks" in the world. Fourteen of Pourarian's students also won national championship titles at the event. (Gold Country Media)
  3. Rocklin City Council held their council meeting on October 25. They approved entitlements for the Placer Creek Apartments, finalized the annual update to city service fees, and honored several cultural groups at this meeting. Details can be found at this link from the City of Rocklin.
  4. Sierra View golfers took home the coveted Rose Cup at the Ryder Cup event in Roseville. It was the closest finish in the event's history. "Sierra View finished with 49 points and runner-up Woodcreek had 48.5. Timber Creek (45) took third and Diamond Oaks (37.5) was fourth." (Gold Country Media)
  5. A very large home that was under construction went up in flames in Folsom on Wednesday night. The home was very near Vista del Lago High School. Folsom, Sac Metro and El Dorado Hills firefighters all descended on the flames, which could be seen from as far away as Highway 50. There were no injuries in the blaze, and no cause has been reported. (KCRA Sacramento)
