  2. Through the BusinessConnect program, Roseville Police invite Roseville small business owners and managers to attend one of two upcoming Small Business Crime Prevention seminars. Each one-day, five-hour seminar will cover some of the most important current issues that affect small businesses in our city. Each will be limited to 25 attendees, so register early! The workshops will be presented on August 24 and August 30. (Press Release Desk)
  3. An invasive species of mosquito was detected in a Granite Bay neighborhood by the Placer Mosquito and Vector Control District on Thursday, July 14. The Aedes aegypti mosquito has been steadily spreading through California since it was first detected in Southern California in 2013. While the mosquito is colloquially known as the Yellow Fever mosquito, no yellow fever virus has been found circulating in California. Still, it is best to report any unusual daytime mosquito biting activity and remove standing water from your property. (Roseville Today)
  4. Downtown Roseville's Fig Tree Coffee, Art & Music Lounge is moving to a new location in mid-August. Don't despair if you get your coffee Jones satisfied by this establishment. All you'll have to do is walk across the street. It is moving from 222 Vernon Street to 217 Vernon Street. Why in the world would the business pick up everything and move just across the street? The new location's kitchen space will allow it to expand the menu. Owners are planning to offer breakfast and lunch options and an assortment of gluten-free pastries. Yum! (ABC10.com KXTV)
  5. Roseville is hosting softball! Roseville's Maidu Regional Park will be one of the venues hosting the Western National Softball Championships. According to Gold Country Media, "the 2022 Western National Championships is the largest senior qualifying softball tournament in California, attracting 157 teams from 10 states, including Texas, Idaho, Hawaii and Alaska." Altogether, Sacramento and Placer counties should see an economic impact of about $12 million from the championship events. (Gold Country Media)
