  1. Roseville native Nicole Gee who was killed in the Afghanistan bombing one year ago, was honored at the Sutter Street Amphitheater in Folsom Friday with a ceremony remembering those who were killed. At exactly 5:36, the time of the bombing one year ago, the names of the 13 killed, including Gee, were read aloud at the ceremony. Folsom native Tyler Andrews also attended. Andrews was injured in the bombing and has undergone several surgeries, including amputations, as a result of the blast. (ABC10.com KXTV)
  2. Former Rancho Cordova Police Chief Kate Adams is suing the county and Sheriff Scott Jones after her forced resignation over racist memes. Adams claims, through her attorney, that the text conversation that was used to force her retirement was taken out of context. In fact, she says, Adams was using the meme to point out that something was wrong in the community. "She was sharing them to condemn them," said attorney Karin Sweigart. "She was sharing them to show people that this was wrong, and that something was going on in the community that she disagreed with," she said. Sweigart said Adams was given the choice to resign quietly or to be fired and allow the allegations to go public. (ABC10.com KXTV)
  3. July 30, the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office hosted a large training event with over 100 explorers from agencies all over the region. The scenarios included active shooter, breaching, medical aid, bus assault, force option simulator, force option response (in the range using sim guns), a drone presentation, and sustained confrontation. Check out the pictures RPD has posed of the Roseville Police Explorers at the training event! (City of Roseville, California Police Department via Facebook)
  4. The Roseville Police Department is partnering with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) for “Saturation Saturday” today. During Saturation Saturday, Roseville Police will increase DUI patrols. RPD reminds you that buzzed driving is drunk driving. Any time you plan to drink, plan not to drive. Either designate a driver or call a ride share.
