Here are the top three stories in Roseville today:
- The City of Roseville is relaunching its open data portal that is designed to provide the public with important information about city services and finances. The new and improved open data portal, called Open Roseville, will eventually house hundreds of city datasets to provide more transparency, accountability, and access to city data. Open Roseville can be accessed at data.roseville.ca.us. (Press Release Desk)
- On Tuesday afternoon, a Roseville man was arraigned on charges related to the fentanyl death of another. This marks the first time a Placer County defendant has been charged with murder for a fentanyl-related death. According to court documents, 20-year-old Carson David Schewe of Roseville was charged with one felony count of murder on Dec. 3, one felony count of purchase/possession of a narcotic substance for sale on Dec. 21, and one felony count of purchase/possession of a narcotic substance for sale on Feb. 10. - Last week, the Roseville Joint Unified High School District school board voted to stop enforcing a statewide order directing students and staff to wear masks in classrooms. Students may now attend in-person classes without a mask. The statewide order for schools currently remains in place, although Gov. Gavin Newsom’s administration recently signaled it could end later this month. (Sacramento Bee)
