Here are the top five stories in Roseville today:

  1. Roseville loves our first responders! This Roseville resident was surely surprised to see a probation officer delivering their McDonald's order! Apparently, their delivery driver was arrested for probation violations while en route to deliver the meal for Doordash. The probation officer realized the situation and took it upon himself to make sure the order was delivered. That's going the extra McMile! (ABC10)
  2. Does your family need a new four-legged member? Now through July 2, Placer County Animal Services is holding pet adoption specials for Adopt-A-Palooza! You can get $10 discounted adoptions on dogs and cats throughout the promotion period. Of course, if you've got your heart set on a pot belly pig, they have those, too! (Roseville Today)
  3. Southern Pacific Railroad (and predecessor Central Pacific) does not have a dedicated museum. Some rail enthusiasts, the City of Rocklin, The Rocklin Historical Society and a few others have set out to change that. They initially looked at a site in downtown Rocklin to house the facility, but found that the soil had been contaminated by oil spillages over the years, rendering the roundhouse site unusable, but now they've found a site in unincorporated Rocklin that is twice the size and without any hurdles to build. They plan to make an offer this year! Train enthusiasts rejoice! (Gold Country Media)
  4. The Rocklin Chamber of Commerce hosted the 2022 State of the City breakfast at the Rocklin Event Center on June 23. The breakfast was attended by over 250 residents and dignitaries. Highlights included a summary of how Rocklin intends to use the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. A summary of the meeting is available at this link. (rocklin.ca.us)
