  1. The city of Roseville is resuming resurfacing that began last year on 65 lane miles of city streets, according to a press release. View a map of locations. Keeping the city's more than $1 billion roadway infrastructure in good condition is a priority. Regular resurfacing maintains Roseville streets at the lowest possible cost. Stay alert and drive with care when you see crews at work. (Press Release Desk)
  2. It's time for Historic Folsom’s Hometown Parade! This homegrown extravaganza is a must-do! Since inception four years ago, people have been flocking to see the funky floats and wild western flair. This year the parade takes place on Saturday, June 25. The Eagles Lodge on Scott Road will be hosting a pancake breakfast before the festivities get underway. Stay afterward for live music at the amphitheater, the Folsom Hotel and Gaslight Company. Roads will be closed around the district, so take light rail free from the Iron Point park and ride or the Glenn Station. Just show the QR code found on our parade postcards or posters. (Roseville Today)
  3. Last week Animal Control Officers were called out to a maintenance shed at a Roseville apartment complex. The report was for a stray large lizard that had been found in the shed which turned out to be a juvenile Roughneck Monitor. This was probably someone's pet that got too big for the family, or the owner just got overwhelmed caring for the lizard. This is not an isolated incident. "Animal Control will often respond to calls of Red-Eared Sliders (a type of turtle that's sold as a pet, but isn't native to our area) that are in a pool or backyard where they do not belong," according to Roseville police. If you own a lizard, turtle, or any number of reptiles or amphibians, and you feel overwhelmed or just no longer want the pet, Animal Control encourages you to take it to one of the many places in our area, like The Serpentarium, where you can do a “safe surrender."
